Delete your data
Effective 2026-10-20
Shiori has no accounts, so there is nothing to sign in to before you delete. Everything below is done from inside the app, in the browser or the Android app. If anything is unclear, write to support@i4c.studio and a person will help.
On your phone
Your books, tabs, notes, legend, sprints and settings live on the device, in the app's own storage.
- Delete one book, tab or sprint: open it, then Delete. A deleted book takes its tabs with it.
- Delete everything on the device: in the Android app, uninstall Shiori, or open the phone's Settings, Apps, Shiori, Storage, Clear storage. In a browser, clear this site's data (site settings for shiori.i4c.studio), or remove the installed app.
- Want a copy first? Settings, Backup, Export backup or Export CSV.
On Shiori's sync relay
Only if you turned on sync. The relay holds a copy of your shelf (books, tabs, legends, sprints, shares and covers), one key per device, the unlock's fingerprint (a hash of the license key or of the Google Play purchase, with Google's order id), and your place in each circle.
- Delete the synced copy: Settings, Your other devices, Delete the synced copy. This removes your shelf from the relay for every device: the rows, covers, device keys, the unlock's link and your place in every circle. The books and tabs on each device stay.
- One device: Settings, Your other devices, Stop syncing on this device removes that device's key. From another device, Remove next to it in the device list does the same.
- A circle: open the circle, then Leave circle. Your shared books leave it at once, and the others no longer see your name there.
Until you delete it, the synced copy stays on the relay for as long as your shelf syncs. Pairing and invite codes expire after 10 minutes on their own.
Deleting the synced copy does not cancel or refund the unlock: a license key stays valid, and a Google Play purchase stays with your Google account, so either can unlock a shelf again later. For a refund, write to support@i4c.studio, or for a Play purchase ask Google Play from your order history.
What stays elsewhere
- Refunded or canceled Google Play purchases: the relay keeps the purchase's fingerprint, Google's order id and when it was voided for 400 days, so a refunded purchase cannot unlock a shelf again. It names no shelf.
- Short-lived request logs at Vercel, our host, kept for a short time.
- What Polar (web purchases) and Google Play (Android purchases) keep about your payment, under their own policies.
